Some family sessions feel less like a photo session and more like spending a morning with people who genuinely love being together. The K family’s summer visit to Bishop's Lodge was exactly that.

The grandparents live in Colorado, while Mom and her son live in Washington, DC, so having everyone together in Santa Fe was a special opportunity to slow down and document their time together.

We spent the morning exploring Bishop’s Lodge, letting their son play, grandparents soak up time with their grandson, and the whole family simply enjoy being together.

That meant plenty of movement, laughter, and little interactions.

I think that's what makes family photography so meaningful. When families are spread across different states, the time everyone gets together can feel especially fleeting. These photographs aren't just about remembering what everyone looked like that summer. They're about remembering what it felt like to all be together.

Colorado, DC, and a summer morning in Santa Fe.

Just a little piece of their life, preserved.
